Posted by admin | Gambling News | Wednesday 30 September 2009 11:54 pm

Always looking to keep a leg up on its competitors, the world’s largest online poker site, PokerStars has just revealed it’s schedule for the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. The popular annual event brings players from all over the world to the luxurious Paradise Island Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas. Mixing the tropics and poker, it is a welcome destination for poker players amateur and professional alike during the cold, bleak winter months.

This year, the festivities are scheduled to take place from January 4th through the 11th and will feature a main event with 50 additional side tournaments. No need to worry about having nothing to do after busting out as the plethora of contests will keep the biggest action junkie busy. In last year’s main event, a player named Poorya Naazari took home the title along with $3Million of the $12.6 Million prize pool. Naazari outlasted a field of 1,347 which included 850 online qualifiers while each other final table competitor took home a minimum of $230,000. Tournament directors are expecting that this year’s version will attract even more players and the prize pool will be bumped to almost $15 Million.

In fact the entire poker community is buzzing about this event which is rivaling the 2009 World Series of Poker in terms of sheer popularity and features something for even the stingiest poker aficionado. Qualifying on PokerStars has already begun and players of even meager bankrolls can work their way into the events.

Cowboys Heavy Favourites For Monday Night Football – Online Casino News

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Friday 25 September 2009 10:08 pm

Tonight’s edition of Monday Night Football sees the winless Carolina Panthers travel west to meet a strong Dallas Cowboys side that is still hurting from its narrow loss last weekend at the hands of the New York Giants.

One of the strongest franchises in all of American sport, the Dallas Cowboys have five Super Bowl titles to its name but have not appeared in the post-season for two years. Third-year coach Wade Phillips is under pressure to correct this as soon as possible with VictorChandler.com and ExtraBet.com currently offering odds of 1/5 on a Dallas win.

Always a strong side at home, BetFred.com, ToteSport.com, SkyBet.com, StanJames.com and WilliamHill.com list Dallas at odds of 2/9 to emerge victorious while Bet365.com, Coral.co.uk and Expekt.com are offering 4/17.

Slightly longer but nevertheless impressive, BoyleSports.com has the Cowboys at odds of 5/21 while SportingBet.com, BlueSq.com, 888Sport.com and Ladbrokes.com show 1/4. Following this, punters can get 5/19 on Dallas from PaddyPower.com while Betfair.com and BetDaq.com show 3/11 followed by WBX.com with 2/7.

Carolina finished with a record of twelve wins to four losses last season to win the NFC South division. But, defeat at home to Philadelphia in the first week of the season was followed by a close loss away to big rivals Atlanta in the second to leave the franchise bottom of the division.

Long-time coach John Fox has blamed the side’s disastrous start on a series of injuries to big-name players and fans of the Charlotte-based franchise can get odds of 11/4 from BlueSq.com and 888Sport.com on a Panthers win tonight.

However, it is all downhill from here with PaddyPower.com listing odds of 59/20 on an away win while StanJames.com, Ladbrokes.com and VictorChandler.com show 3/1.

Even longer, SportingBet.com is going with odds of 310/100 on a Carolina victory while BoyleSports.com and ExtraBet.com show 16/5 followed by ToteSport.com, BetFred.com and SkyBet.com with 10/3.

Rushmore Casino Home To Poker Game Where Major Online Jackpot Hit

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Sunday 20 September 2009 10:49 pm

Rushmore Casino
The jackpots at online casinos that still accept US players have been hitting a a rapid pace over the past couple of weeks. The latest jackpot to be hit was on a Caribbean Stud Poker game on the Real Time Gaming network of casinos.

Rushmore Casino is one of the casinos that is powered by RTG software and the casino offers the Caribbean Stud game. The jackpot was hit on Wednesday just before midnight and paid the lucky winner $27,619.

A couple of weeks ago a jackpot was hit for over $1 million at an online casino. The recent string of good luck at online casinos follows a drought in which weeks went by and there were only a couple of winners.

“These jackpots do tend to run in streaks,” said NOC Gaming Analyst Noah Black, “There is no set formula and it is more luck than anything else, but players do follow the trends so there should be an increase in customer participation after the recent wins.”

Real Time Gaming software is know for their progressive jackpot games. While other software provierds are known more for their graphics or their tournaments, players know that they can find the highest jackpot progressives at RTG powered casinos like Rushmore.

Washington Redskins Name Change Odds

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Tuesday 15 September 2009 10:46 pm

A group of American Indians who find the Washington Redskins’ name offensive wants the Supreme Court to take up the matter. The seven Native Americans have been working through the court system since 1992 to have the Redskins’ trademarks declared invalid. A U.S. Patent and Trademark Office panel ruled in their favor in 1999, but they’ve since suffered a series of defeats from judges who ruled that the plaintiffs waited too long to bring their suit in the first place. With fans across the country taking interest in the story, and flooding their website looking for answers, the largest most successful sportsbook on the web BetUS.com posted odds on the situation and possible outcomes.

Analysts at BetUS.com posted the following odds regarding the Washington Redskins:

Will the Supreme Court Agree to Hear the Redskins case?

Yes  1/3

No  2/3

How will the Supreme court rule regarding the Redskins?

In Favor of the Plaintiffs  2/1

In Favor of the Defendants  1/3

Will the Redskins be forced to change their name?

Yes  3/1

No  1/5

Gambling911 NFL, College Football Predictions 4-1, 3-1

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Thursday 10 September 2009 8:19 pm

Gambling911.com has gotten off to a terrific start with its College Football and NFL predictions (all of which are free).  After a 3-1 start last weekend in College Football, Gambling911 once again went 3-1 during Week 2 of the 2009 College Football season and 4-1 with its NFL plays.

Last week’s College Football winning plays were on Central Michigan, California and Miami.  We lost with our East Michigan play as Army came through with an outright win.

This week’s College Football winning plays were on Michigan, Duke and UCLA.  We lost with USC failing to cover.

Week 1 of the NFL brought us 4 winners including Washington (just barely covering the +7 spread), Tennessee (covering the 6 point spread against Pittsburgh on Thursday night), The New York Jets winning outright as the underdog in Houston and Green Bay just managing to cover the -4 ½ line we had.  The two point conversion had us nervous of course but, in getting the two points, they manage to cover the -5 point line as well that was available at most other books.

Our only loss in the NFL during Week 1 was on Indianapolis, which failed to cover the -6 ½ point line, though they won outright against Jacksonville by two points.

At press time we still had one more play on the line for Monday night with New England the -10 ½ favorite hosting Buffalo.

It was still to be determined whether a play on San Diego vs. Oakland would be offered.

You can get FREE NFL and College Football predictions almost daily at Gambling911.com, the Gambling News and Odds Authority.

Mum Used Children’s Inheritance for Gambling

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Saturday 5 September 2009 10:55 pm

A CANBERRA mother has denied she stole more than $500,000 of her children’s inheritance and lost most of it playing the pokies.

Katherine Hawcroft, of Latham in Canberra’s north, faced the ACT Supreme Court today charged with 229 counts of theft from her three children and two nieces.

The court heard that Hawcroft had been entrusted to manage an investment property in the children’s name until the youngest one turned 25 in 2011.

But she allegedly secretly sold the property, previously owned by her late parents, in 2000 and spent the proceeds.

Police allege she spent a majority of the money, $523,000, playing pokies at two Canberra clubs between November 2000 and April 2003.

Choking back tears, Hawcroft pleaded not guilty to each of the  229 counts of theft read out individually in court.
