Sloto’Cash Casino has introduced a new online slot game called “Roll Out the Barrels” based on Oktoberfest and featuring free spins, an exciting bonus round and an expanding wild symbol.

The Usual Suspects
The reels of this new game at Sloto’Cash Casino are filled up with the usual suspects during the Oktoberfest festivities. Everything from sausages to sauerkraut to shiploads of beer to beautiful barmaids – they’re all represented on Roll Out the Barrels.

The Bonus Round
The Barmaid Symbol is the key to the Barmaid Bonus Round. Hit three or more of them and you’ll enter the bonus round where pick from four kegs of beer to serve the thristy customers and multiply your own winnings.

Cartoonlike Graphics
Roll Out the Barrels is well-animated, has the cartoonlike graphics that Rival Gaming is known for, and features some apt German background music. Especially cool is the animation used for the expanding wild feature, which is represented by the reel being filled up like a long glass of beer.

Microgaming progressive wins are paid out in one cash tranche.

Oddsmakers Give Edge To New England Patriots Over New Orleans Saints In 2010 NFL Pre-Season Opener

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Sunday 8 August 2010 8:42 pm

The Patriots were +6 in the turnover department in 2009, while ranking 11th in total defense.  The were very balanced against both the run and pass, ranking 12th and 13th respectively.  Look for head coach Bill Belichik to experiment and mix up coverages to see what may and may not work. There is no better team than a stout offense by the Saints than the use a myriad of defensive schemes and coverages.

New England Offense Vs. New Orleans Defense-

The Patriots offense begins and ends with quarterback Tom Brady.  Brady is the field general when New England has the ball and knows exactly where each of his players is at each different set.  Averaging close to 400 yards per game, the Patriots ranked third in the NFL in total offense and third in the NFL in passing.

The Patriots Achilles heal has been the run game over the course of the past few seasons, though they still ranked in the top-half of the league in 2009.  Still, the combination of Laurence Maroney and Sammy Morris will be the first set of backs that the New Orleans defense will likely see in the first few series in this one. New England averaged 120 yards on the ground last season, while the Saints were prone to giving up some yardage, ranking 21st in the league.

The passing game between the New England offense and the New Orleans secondary should present a good match up between the starters in the opening series.  Safeties Roman Harper and Darren Sharper were turnover machines down the stretch for the Saints.  In the game last year, Brady threw two interceptions.

Special Teams-

On paper, the edge goes to the Saints in terms of return men.  Reggie Bush will be the guy to return punts for the Saints, though it remains to be seen if head coach Sean Payton will put him in their in the first pre-season game.

The Patriots have a good talent at the place kicker position in Stephen Gostkowski, as he is a reliable field goal kicker, and boots them deep on the kick off into the end zone.

Jerry Rice And Emmitt Smith Lead 2010 NFL Hal of Fame Class

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Friday 6 August 2010 8:39 pm

Two of the greatest players ever to play in the NFL lead the Class of 2010 that were inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame on Saturday night. Both Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith have now realized that their destinies have now been fulfilled as they spoke to the audience in Canton, Ohio.

“This is finally it,” Rice said. “There are no more routes to run, no more touchdowns to score, no more records to set. That young boy from Mississippi has finally stopped running.

“Let me stand here and catch my breath.”

Rice was one of the most electrifying wide receivers to ever play the game. In his 20-year career, Rice broke every important pass-catching record and was a huge gamebreaer for the San Francisco 49ers. He had 22,895 yards which is more than 7,600 ahead of second place. He also had 208 touchdowns, made 10 All-Pro teams, chosen for 13 Pro Bowls and had a reception in an unbelievable 274 consecutive games. He accomplished so much during his career, but wishes he could have done on thing different.

“My single regret about my career is I never took the time to enjoy it,” he said. “I was always working.

“I was afraid to fail. The fear of failure is the engine that has driven me my entire life. The reason they never caught me from behind is because I ran scared. People always are surprised how insecure I was. The doubts, the struggles, is who I am. I wonder if I would have been as successful without them.”

Smith followed Rice in the induction ceremony and displayed much emotion as he fought back tears during his acceptance speech. After a one-minute standing ovation, Smith began to acknowledge those who had played such an important role in getting him to achieve all his accomplishments. He thanked many individuals, but he did not downplay the importance of his family.

“When I go into the hall today, I am not going in alone,” Smith said. “I am carrying my grandfather, I’m carrying my father and I’m carrying my son along with me because I bear all their names. Now I can say to my dad and my son, EJ, our name will be forever enshrined in the history of football.”

Smith’s career in the NFL was just as spectacular as the one lived by Rice. The former Dallas Cowboy running back is the all-time lading rusher in the NFL after breaking the previous mark held by Walter Payton. In his career, he rushed for 18,355 yards with 164 touchdowns. He also had 11 seasons in which he rushed for over 1,000 yards and had 78 games with 110 yards rushing. All of his hard work has finally paid off as he was inducted Saturday night.

“Most people only dream,” Smith said. “I not only had my childhood dream, I did everything I could to fulfill it.

“You know what, I am now the all-time leading rusher. Wow. What an honor.”

Atlantic City Casino Revenue Down More Than 11 Percent

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Thursday 8 July 2010 5:49 pm

June was Atlantic City’s last chance to post a good financial performance from its 11 casinos while offering something its main competitor didn’t: table games. But that chance went by the boards.

Revenue for the nation’s second-largest gambling market fell more than 11% in June, to $286.8 million.

And now Atlantic City is virtually surrounded by table games: Pennsylvania started offering them on Thursday, a few weeks after Delaware did likewise.

Analysts say the stepped-up competition could cost Atlantic City about a quarter of its annual table games revenue, or about $300 million a year.

It was the Pennsylvania slots parlors that began Atlantic City’s revenue plunge in late 2006.

Soon, Pennsylvania will have nine casinos offering the same gambling options as Atlantic City – but much closer to home for Pennsylvania players, who have been a big part of Atlantic City’s clientele.

Table games revenue for Atlantic City fell 16.2% last month to $79.9 million. Slot revenue fell 9% to $206.9 million.

Only one of the city’s 11 casinos posted a revenue increase, and it was minuscule. Trump Marina Hotel Casino, one of the city’s most struggling casinos, edged up 1.3%.

Resorts Atlantic City, which turned itself over to its lenders in December when it could no longer pay its mortgage, posted the biggest drop, nearly 20%. Caesars Atlantic City’s revenue sank 17.8%, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort dropped 13.5%, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino fell 13.2%, and Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City fell 13%.

The Showboat Casino Hotel skidded 12.4%, the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, usually the city’s dominant casino, fell 11.7%, and the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort, which hasn’t paid its own mortgage in a year and is trying to work out a deal with its lenders, slid 7.7%.

The Tropicana Casino and Resort, rebounding after its purchase by billionaire Carl Icahn, fell 5.9% and Bally’s Atlantic City slipped 3.2%.

New Jersey considering horse racing betting exchange

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Saturday 3 July 2010 5:47 pm

The betting exchange peer-to-peer business model, pioneered in the UK years ago by online gambling giant Betfair, could find new application in the state of New Jersey, reports the Thoroughbred Times.

The New Jersey General Assembly this week unanimously approved a bill that would allow this form of betting, which could open up new revenues for the struggling horse racing industry in the state. Online wagering on horse races enjoys a legislative exemption from the Wire Act and the UIGEA, positioning it strongly to exploit a betting exchange model to the full.

The bill calls for the New Jersey Racing Commission to oversee and regulate exchange wagering, which will be initially restricted to one licensee, and following its approval in the Assembly is now on its way to the New Jersey state Senate’s Wagering, Tourism, and Historic Preservation Committee.

If exchange wagering is approved, only New Jersey residents would be allowed to participate, reports the Thoroughbred Times. Under the current bill, those residents would be allowed to wager on in-state or out-of-state racing.

With casino and pari-mutuel wagering slumping in the state, the bill aims to promote horse racing in New Jersey by adding the new form of wagering.

The betting form typically relies on advanced real-time technology offered on Internet sites, but the bill has provisions that permit gamblers to bet on the exchange in person or by phone. The intent of the bill is to generate cash for state tracks and horse owners, and proposes an arrangement whereby the first licence would come up for review in 2014, at which time interested parties could propose changes.

Betfair, which has acquired extensive interests in US racing through its $50 million TVG deal, could be a front-runner for any licence due to its advanced technology and wide experience in this type of business model.

International Olympic Committee agrees on anti-corruption recommendations

Posted by admin | Gambling News | Wednesday 23 June 2010 2:25 pm

International sports movements under the leadership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), have agreed on a series of recommendations aimed at protecting and maintaining the integrity of sport, especially in regard to the risk of ‘irregular’ betting.

The recommendations are the result of deliberations at a conference in Lausanne this week in which the IOC, International Sports Federations, National Olympic Committees, the betting sector and public authorities participated.

The recommendations which emerged from the conference can be viewed here (PDF format) and serve as guidelines for all stakeholders involved.

They call for prevention, education and information from all involved in sport, as well as increased collaboration with governments.

IOC President Jacques Rogge said: “It is clear that betting, through the financial benefits it generates, provides huge opportunities to sports organisations.

“However, there is a significant problem when betting leads to the manipulation of competitions and therefore threatens the integrity of sport. Cheating driven by betting is undoubtedly the biggest threat to sport after doping.

“For the sports movement it is crucial to develop a unified strategy and to collaborate closely with public authorities and the legal gambling industry. Only then will we be able to address efficiently this complex issue,” Rogge concluded.

The IOC has approached the topic of irregular betting in a proactive way to protect the Olympic Games, a statement from the IOC claimed, adding that the Committee requires that all athletes, coaches, officials and journalists agree not to engage in Olympic-related betting or promote betting companies during the Games.

The IOC Code of Ethics also prohibits betting on any Olympic competition by IOC members, IOC staff or any accredited IF and Olympic Games Organising Committee personnel.

For the Games of the Olympiad in Beijing in 2008 and the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver last February, the IOC set up a dedicated monitoring system. No irregular betting patterns were reported during these events.
